Good thing no one reads my blog,

Or they would be pissed that I'm not much for updates. I keep having thoughts at inopportune times for great things to say, but of course I can't actually write them then and then forget when I actually come here to write. Ok.. So I actually have a lot of time to forget, since I barely do more than email lately.

I like working at the library a lot. This full time job came up at the city that I could apply for, but I'd rather see if I can get full time at the library. *sigh, I had mostly decided, but I really am waffling on this one. That and I'd feel really guilty for leaving so soon after I started. Damn loyalty. I am such a sucker.

Chris just phoned, he's going to be late since he is just leaving work now. I'm hungry. ( what else is new) I believe we are going to have grilled tilapia with a sweet chili ginger glaze and some salad. It's so hard to diet when you like to eat so much. I'm sure there's some psychological reason, but right now I'm sticking with, "it tastes good". The flowers I started from seed are finally starting to bloom. The first poppy opened the other day. So that's 2 kinds of flowers blooming so far. I'll keep you updated with this scintillating topic, never fear.

I really need to write a letter to immigration to make sure they have my new address that I sent them in April. I haven't had anything back from them, and I think that I should be getting something for my work permit, since I believe the one I have is only temporary, I thought they lasted a year and mine expires on my birthday (Nov) Chris has to send in a change of address too, which he hasn't done yet. *sigh. He also has to hook up a printer somewhere so I can print things at home.

I want a pedometer. I'm intrigued by the whole 10000 steps a day for weightloss. So of course I wonder how much I walk in an average day. I'm sort of scared that it will be really nothing at all. heh. Though, I must walk a few miles at work going back and forth between check-in and check out.

Today is nice. Sunny, not too hot. I figure it can't last. The spring and summer have in general be pretty awful this year. COLD. Plus there was a tornado in Madison the other night and they are still picking stuff up from it. It was a "weak" tornado... No one was hurt, and comparatively, not that much mess. It was sort of weird the way the storm split in two and went around stoughton. Lucky I guess. Chris likes to watch weather and was out across the road looking north at the sky.

blah blah blah,
I'll put more later

gardening is an addiction.

Wow, has it really been a week since I last posted. Time flies. Really. Lately I keep sitting back and boggling about how fast everything is going now. I'll blink and be 30.

Well, I'm trying to write about everything I did in the past week. I'll go backwards and maybe I'll remember better.

Yesterday I worked in the morning and Chris picked me up at 12:30 and we went to Madison. Well, first we had to go to Oregon(WI) to drop off the computer at the Fedex drop place for the... 4th? time... I forget It's been this way since the computer first was dropped off. (that's another rant all to its self.) Stopped at HD to drop off the wrong sized countertop piece for the second time. If they can cut it down we can have it back in like a day, if they can't... It will be another 3 weeks. They also estimate that my corner cabinet cupboard door (reordered 4 or 5 times already)will be here on the 10th. Lunch: We went to Chili's. I have never had a blooming onion thing. We ordered one. It was truly, the size of my head. We barely made a dent in it. Then the shop-o-thon begins. Bed bath and beyond for a misto oil sprayer thingy. ( that's the technical name I think) Target to drool over the gazebo I want, also bought citronella candles, a cutlery drawer insert thing that actually holds everything (yay) and bug spray (did I mention I live near a river... and a lot of my property is shady) KOhls for the really really reduced super clearance rack, I found 2 skirts. Famous footwear where I tried on a lot of shoes and didn't find what I wanted. :| Finally, to Shopko, to buy .89c plants! I am now an obsessed gardener. I just bought a flat, 12 containers of various flowers. Mostly annuals. I'm going to do a bed in front of the bushes that I pruned over the weekend.

Wasn't that thrilling then.. I must also mention that during all this Chris pushed the cart, held things I wanted to try on while I was still looking and carried the flat while I selected plants. All after eating a hamburger the size of my cat. ( the kitten, but still!) I'm surprised he stayed awake.

On the weekend I bought a bunch of caladium tubers and pots to plant them in. Oh, and a tomato seed kit. This is also when I pruned these juniper pushes that are in the front on either side of the front steps. They re those grayish ones that are a creeping sort that don't grow up.. They grow out. But anyway, they had spread too much for my liking and there was a tonn of mostly dead under growth. Now they look more like large bonsai. I also dug up a bunch of ferns that were growing up through the shrub and brought them to work to give away. The yard is so huge it is just so ripe with possibilities.

ok, now I'm all caught up... The other days I probably didn't do anything of note. worked or sat in the back yard drinking beer and marveling at how pretty it is.

That's my photo album thing.. in a proper link.. (ooohh ahhhhhh)

I am now off to go get ready to plant in the front.

Ciao

I love days off.

I have Wednesdays off. I like it, it means I never work more than 3 days in a row without getting a rest. Well it is never really a rest since I always have stuff to do at the house. I was fairly productive today. I did laundry (yay), installed this hook thing that is a mini picket fence with hooks in the back entry way and emptied a box of kitchen things and put them away in the kitchen. I sure doesn't sound like much now... hrrm.

I mowed almost half the lawn before I ran out of gas. I wore a dustmask mowing and got some interesting looks from people that drove by. I have a really violent allergy to grass pollen. Allergies are measured on a 1-4 scale, four being the highest. I have a 4+, aren't I special . :( Anyway, with all the rain we have been having we haven't been able to mow the lawn. It has sort of been decided that it will be Chris' job to mow... But the grass was so long that it's really fun cause you can see where you have been (yeah I know I'm weird)

Chris and I went to dinner and grocery shopping when he got home from work. We also stopped and got more gas for the lawn mower. He finished the mowing when we got home. (fascinating isn''t it)

I'd also like to get that thing on the side of my bloc that lists the blogs I read regularly. Probably this weekend Chris can help me do that. Thanks for the info stuff Kevin, but I'll probably just have Chris do it... I don't really want to know how.. I just want it there. It's hard enough for me to try and use proper grammar.

Isn't it ironic that the spellchecker wants to change blog to bloc.

mother nature is a tease.

Well, lately anyway. It was so sunny and beautiful this morning when I got up. I had been under the impression that I had this sweet deal worked out where I had glorious weather whenever I wanted. Case in point, our wedding. Picture this: Northern Wisconsin, mid-April. The week before there was a foot of snow and then on the day it was glorious sunny and 85f. Amazing. Perhaps it's just our relationship that is blessed, not the weather for our daily lives.

Poor Chris, vacuuming water in the basement just to have it rain more and then have to do it again. The forecast is for 3 rain free days this week, and then rain again for Chris' day's off. It's just not his spring so far.

At long last, we have installed the pantry cupboard next to the fridge. I use the term we loosely, I think I was watching TV or outside when he did it. I put the shelves in. Isn't that the most important part? ( hew) Chris is going to Home Depot today to exchange the wrong size counter piece fore the right size piece. Possible even get the corner cupboard door that has been reordered 3 times already. I wonder if Home depot screws up as much with everyone else as they have been with our things. I feel like they own me a free gift card or something.

ok.. more later. I need food.

...later...
Ok. Chris went and picked up the replacement countertop piece from HD after work. Guess what!? it's the wrong size again. Un-believeable. First we brought it back because they gave us a 7 1/8" inch wide piece when it was supposed to be 9 1/8". So now... they made one that is 9 7/8", I guess they thought someones 1 was a 7. :| I really think they owe us for this. so, 2 reorders for the counter, and 4 reorders for the corner cabinet door. A case of ones at least right... * heh. We have decided Chris can better manipulate some one in customer service than I can. So sometime soon the manager at HD will get a phonecall. I'll keep you posted on what they *do*
to make me happy.

Might be able to figure out how to add pictures to this later. I have yet to learn about ftp-ing and all that tech-ish stuff. Till then, there are some pics of the house and such in my yahoo photo album. See it here: http://photos.yahoo.com/bettyevil

Thanks to friends who peek in here and others who wander in somehow. Off to go read.
