Winter storm warning in effect from 1 am to 10 pm cdt wednesday,
The NWS in milwaukee/sullivan has issued a winter storm warning, which is in effect from 1 am to 10 pm cdt wednesday.
Snow or a cold rain is expected to develop over southwest wisconsin this evening, before spreading across southern wisconsin as a mix of rain and snow tonight. The precipitation will turn to all snow late tonight last through Wednesday evening.
8 to 10 inches of heavy wet snow is expected by early Wednesday evening. The heaviest snow should fall from late tonight into the early afternoon hours Wednesday. East to northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph may create blowing and drifting snow as well.
A winter storm warning is issued when snow is expected to combine with strong winds of 20 mph or more. This will make travel dangerous and power outages may result.
