weird!

I just went to go look at my blog and the missing post appeared! I swear I went and checked days after I had written it and it wasn't there... plus there were 3 entried with the title and nothing else. Was it there the whole time and no one checked? Or am I on crack? * wiggles eyebrows. The down side is that since I talked it up so much that maybe it won't really seem like a great post. Ahhhh hype, such a cruel mistress.
~heh...

Last week I wrote a really great post...

And then I clicked publish and there was some stupid error andI clicked back and it was gone. I wasn't about to try to write the great post again. I was so pissed. Damn technology hiccup. Chris told he he writes them in word first and then pastes them over. Seems like a good idea.

you to know, I didn't forget I had a blog... I just needed time to recover from that blogger anger. * deep breaths.

Right now I am listening to Chris score calls. "Score calls??" you may ask... As a "coach" Chris has to pull certain recorded calls by his associates and listen to them and rate them. I don't know on what, but it is sort of funny to listen to them. Maybe I am just odd. or well.. ok.. Definitely ( not maybe)

I bought a lot of bulbs at home depot. 118 tulips, 50 daffodils, 50 crocus' plus the things I ordered online from a garden center. They are shipping at the end of August. It sure is going to be fun to plant all those bulbs this fall. In the spring, I'll be so anxious for things to come up! Of course, that is providing that the squirrels don't eat them all...

Well, this is certainly not as good ans the post that disappeared, but it is an update... Albeit a half-assed one.

*ciao.

The weekend was busy, not unlike the past week.

I am really looking forward to Wednesday when I will actually have the whole day to get caught up on things at the house.. laundry, cleaning kitchen etc etc... The kitchen looks like a tornado went through since yesterday morning( afternoon) I had to madly cook the stuff I was bringing to my staff party. I made mini spanikopita's ( spinach/feta pie) and fresh Thai spring rolls, and peanut sauce. MMM They turned out well, but we were late. I should have left more than an hour to cook and get ready.. but It *WAS* Sunday.. and I hadn't had a day free for like 7 days. * whine whine whine.

I picked up a few shifts last week because Jean ( the circ manager) was on vacation all last week. Plus then Friday I was at the Opera House and then again on Saturday for the Coffee Break fall ticket sales kick off. ( weeeee) Tickets are now on sale for the Stoughton Opera House's Fall/Winter 2004 season. I don't think the website is updated, we don't have control of it, so we just send in the information and hope for the best.

I slept in today. It was almost eleven when I poured a cup of coffee and headed outside to sit in the sun. Chris was up and dressed and wandering about the yard. He had this *great* idea that he wanted to try and pull down this dead tree that was hanging off this other live tree. He couldn't find rope in the basement so he went over with a bungee cord. I was a bit wary of this, warned him if he killed himself that I could not drive stick shift so he's be out of luck. Anyway, off he went into the woods and stuck the hook of the cord into a hole in the dead tree and pulled. I heard some breaking wood sounds and rustles in the tree's. I could tell it didn't come down, there wasn't *that much noise, but I couldn't see Chris any where. He came over to be and I asked how it went, I was then shown the wound. I guess the cord broke through the tree and snapped back, putting a hole in his shirt and scraping him with the hook and making a hell of a bruise where the coiled part holds the stretchy rope knot. Ouch. Poor Chris, but I think he learned a lesson; Don't use a bungee cord where you would use rope. Stretchy things snap back and knock the shit out of you. He is luck he didn't lose an eye or slice his nose off of his face.

*fun.

We went out for lunch at the new Mexican place. I like it a lot, Chris didn't the first time we went, but was raving this time. So that's good. Now, he mows the lawn trying to beat the rain and I mess around in here. I work tonight at 5.

In other news, Chris's grandma is safe after hurricane Charley. I guess the place she lives chartered a bus and went to Ft Lauderdale. The buildings are all fine, but last I heard there was no electricity yet in Ft Myers and they lost a bunch of tree's. All the technology and advancement we are still no match for mother nature.

*till next time~~~

Time flies when you are having fun.

Chris got a bonus check at the end of July. So, instead of paying the mortgage and having none left over, we actually had extra money for a bit. Last Saturday there was a sidewalk sale in town and I got 2 skirts and a dress for $62 ! That's less than the dress was orginally. I love sales. LOVE!

I also got the swing that I've had my eye on for the whole spring/summer. They had marked it down to 100$ from 128 and there were 2 in boxes and the demo left. When the weekend rolled around only the demo was left and we got them to bring it down to $80 for a few tears and some rust. The swing converts to a flat hammock type thing as well, which is why I liked it so much. Eventually, we will move it out in the yard closer to the river, but first we have to cut down a bunch of tree's.

So this week we bought a chainsaw ( makes chainsaw noises), a wheel barrow and a flat edged shovel. Best of all, we got a 8x8 gazebo at Menards for $42! It was such a good price we couldn't pass it by, even though I rode home from Madison with my seat as far forward as it goes. I couldn't feel my knees when we got home. Ahh, the sacrifices one makes for a gazebo.

We made a small dent in clearing off the dirt from the foundation closest to the house today. It isn't much, just 3-4 inches, but it is all full of roots, so it is a bit more difficult that we thought it would be. Oh, I forgot that we also bought one of those half barrel planters for the front yard to sit on top of where there was an old hollow stump planter that had rotted away. We put a bunch of beer cans in the bottom, then a bunch of dirt from the foundation and I transplanted some brown-eyed susans from some containers in the back. Needless to say, after this weekends work, my hands are dry and very sore.

I work a few extra shifts this week too. An 8 hour day at the library... Plus I work there Weds on my day off. Oh well. More money and I like working at the library.

Ok, I must go get clean and ready for work.

ciao.
