lazy picture post...

Here is a picture of the new coat. The camera's batteries were dying so I know we can get a better shot, perhaps tomorrow.

Note to self.

When your infant is sick: Do not type "infant fever arching back" into the search box on yahoo (or google if you prefer). It may cause you to have an irrational fear that your baby has meningitis.

After roughly two hours of trying to get Iris to bed all the while she was screaming and arching her back with her low grade fever, Chris got her to sleep. ( run-on sentence) For the last stage he sent me downstairs to eat dinner while he rocked her. I ate and cringed while listening to the baby monitor on low. Shortly after we went to bed with our stomachs still full, which always feels so gross. She was up again at 12:30am, 3:45am and sort of at 7:45am, but I brought her into our bed and she slept for another hour. I forget which time it was... either 12:30 or 3:45 . This is when she started out with the usual whiny "I'm awake and need your help to get back to sleep" cry. Chris went in to try giving her her pacifier and I guess picked her up after I told him I'd be right into feed her. She started in with the most awful crying/ screaming I have ever heard in my life. I can't even describe it. The sort of thing you'd expect if someone were sawing off her arms and legs all at once. I thought my baby was dying... Then Chris passed her to me and I fed her and she was ok. She relaxed and snuggled in and we were able to put her down without any problems. I believe she stayed asleep after she stopped eating.

I am so glad that night is over. She seems fine now, although she was fine last night till we went to put her down to bed. I guess I'll chalk it up to the fever and hope it never happens again.

Shazam!

Where did that week go!!?

Probably something to do with all the days off I had in a row and all the things that we had scheduled during all those days. Oh.. there was also snow and now, even though I am getting ahead of myself, there is COLD.

Friday we took Iris to daycare, took Bob to the vet to get his thyroid levels rechecked ( they are still high and his medication dose was upped). Then back home to drop him off and then to Madison to pick up my coat and to pick up the Jetta and give them $1200. It still hurts to think of it. Oh, and the coat was 50% + 20% + 20% off. So, really it was pracically free! I got approved for a Boston store charge card which gave me the second 20% off. Establishing american credit is so exciting. Hehe. Also on Friday there was holiday decorating at the Library. I brough Chris and Iris along with me and then everyone that came had pizza in the meetign room. The decorations look nice, really go me in the mood for Saturday...

On Saturday Chris got the Christmas stuff out of the attic and I put up a couple garlands over windows in the living and dining rooms. We found a Christmas music radio station and listened ALL DAY. I don't know what's the matter with me, I don't usually have this much spirit. It must be Iris' doing... Darn baby.

Sunday I had the staff Chrismas party. I made an appy to bring and stayed about 2 hours. I brought the baby to that as well, she was passed around a lot. I worry that I am annoying because I brought the baby and am putting people out when they have to hold her. I know it's rediculous, people love to hold a baby for a while.

Zoom, zoom, zoom... and it's Wednesday already. The past two nights Iris has slept "normally", waking once in the night around 4am. We like once in the night, especially when it is after 3am and before 5:30am. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and she will be sleeping longer and longer. Possibly ten hours or more at a time. Speakign of the baby, she is dresses totally like a boy today. Green, brown, blue and white sleeper and a blue bib. Our boy baby is as cute ans our girl baby.

We picked up Iris' pictures yesterday. So I have to get busy on my Christmas cards and also send a bunch of pictures off to Chris' parents. Oh, and I will try and get pictures of the new coat for Christine. I already saw hers...

Wow, what a boring entry... no finesse, just facts. I'll do better, I promise.
