I can't believe I don't hurt.

It is Thursday. Today I work at 12:30. I had yesterday off and planted a bunch of my bulbs. Maybe half of the over 400 I have to plant. So I now have Easter colored tulips (pastels) and lily flowered tulips, some drumstick alliums, grape hyacinths and I transplanted a bunch of lily of the valleys from the side of the house. I put all these in at the back of the house on the other side of the shed along the edge of the grass. I think I may put my hydrangeas back there as well. They will have a little more insulation from the cold because of the oak trees, and once the crooked smaller trees are cut down they will be in a bit more sunny of an area. They like part shade anyway.

I bought another bag of 50 daffodils on the weekend at Wal-Mart. They were half price. Chris says “I need help”. I think he was kidding :D. Or was he! They really don’t go as far as you might think. You want to group them so there are blocks of color. I got the grape hyacinths that day too. I want to go back and see if there is anything left and buy more. It is going to be sooo pretty! Maybe some paper whites, or something like that. I’m planning on putting crocus’ in the “meadow” ( the area there the driveway stops, around the shed, till we move the shed anyway) for naturalizing. They will be up early enough I think that Chris could still mow if he wanted. Plus I could hand turn some of the earth and try planting the wild flowers again so he wouldn’t have to mow there. It would be cool the try doing a “prairie”. That seems to be a trend around here, putting in natural prairies.

Maybe someday I can get a green house. Oohhh, and a potting table. Then I’d have a place for my bags of dirt and 3 million plastic pots that I might need eventually for starting seeds. My plants in the front are starting to die back. I think I may remove some and then plant some lilies in there. That will be so pretty. I have 10 Asiatic lilies and some blue hyacinths that I removed from a pot I bought at home depot when we bought the house.

On the weekend (I think it was this past weekend.. but they sort of all run together) I planted all the mixed wildflower plants I had in containers in the ground at the side of the driveway. When they die back I’ll cut them and maybe they will reseed themselves. The other big thing is that we (Chris, I watched) pulled down the big dead tree that was leaning against the dead oak tree branch. I came down with a hell of a crack. The oak branch stayed put, even dead oak limbs are strong. That’s comforting for the future if our oaks die back, they aren’t going to fall down and smash the house.

Chris is going away for a few days starting Sunday. On Saturday while he is at work ( my day off) I’m going to go do flowers till he is done work. Maybe on Sunday too when he leaves. Oh, I think I made plans with Shawna… so, maybe not.
